These compositions were made by recording short wave, long wave & weak signal radio transmissions and radio beacons on WEBSDR servers. Each recording depends on the transmissions at the specific date, time and frequency. The narrative of each composition rests on the signal.

SOLAR DATA derives its sounds from the atmosphere, but is related to a very esoteric corporeal feeling: the birth of my daughter a couple of years ago. An experience that became part of my novel “Alma” (2019). For me there is something umbilical about these sounds and the metaphor of space. [SILTC]

SOLAR DATA derives its name from observatories that track solar activity interference with radio transmission. When a strong enough solar flare occurs, ionization is produced in the lower, more dense layers of the ionosphere and radio waves that interact with electrons lose energy. This can cause radio signals to become degraded or completely absorbed resulting in a radio blackout. What gives life also interferes with life.
